According to a survey conducted by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, people with lower annual incomes were less likely to participate in cancer research trials than those with higher incomes. Results show that “those with incomes of less that $50,000 were 30% less likely to participate in cancer clinical research trials that people with higher annual incomes.” More research needs to be done in order to understand the drivers behind this and solutions to overcome.
