Gene testing of patients enrolled in advanced cancer clinical trials may be able to supplement or even replace traditional enrolment. The reason for this is that next-generation gene sequencing is demonstrating that a “molecular triage” model for a clinical trial may increase effectiveness, reduce costs, and shorten development time.
