This past May 20th was International Clinical Trials Day celebrating the life changing triumphs that result from the efforts accomplished by clinical researchers. Its birth was inaugurated back in 1747 when James Lind pursued a cure for scurvy. BioMed Central published an interesting blog article on May 18th capturing perspectives from research funders and the investigators themselves on how clinical research can improve during the next 5-10 years.

Many of the scientists who provided their perspectives believe the answer lies within the participant and researcher relationships. Simon Denegri, National Director within the NIHR believes, “we must do everything we can to ensure this exciting partnership between researchers and the public becomes a happy and enduring meeting of minds. Whether we will, is entirely in our own hand. ”
