Many doctors already discuss clinical research with patients, but in a recent study, only 21% of patients felt comfortable asking about research to their doctors. The National Health Service, (NHS) is looking for patients and professionals to either ask or talk about research more often. The NHS is sponsoring the “OK to Ask” campaign, in hopes that more patients will ask their doctors about clinical research, as well as doctors freely telling patients about options of clinical research. If you are a patient or doctor that has supported the “OK to Ask” campaign feel free to comment about your situation as well as possible improvements on Facebook and Twitter. Medical professionals are encouraged to take a picture with the “OK to Ask” badge. And everyone including the public is invited to send a message to the organization.
